Built in the 1960's primarily as a tourist resort Palma Nova is now one of the most popular in Majorca (Mallorca). Palma Nova and Magaluf are the largest resorts in the municipal district of Calvia, and are situated on the south west coast of the island, approximately 15km or 10 miles west of Palma, and the Son Sant Joan International airport.
